MeetMute does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

What we collect

MeetMute collects no personal information whatsoever. The extension does not collect, transmit, or share:

What is stored locally on your device

MeetMute stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your device:

How the extension works

MeetMute works by setting the .muted property on audio and video HTML elements within Google Meet tabs. This is a standard browser operation โ€” no audio is recorded, intercepted, or transmitted at any point.

License key verification

When you activate a premium license key, the extension sends only the license key string to the Lemon Squeezy API to verify its validity. No personal information is included in this request. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy applies to this transaction.

Third parties

MeetMute does not share any data with third parties. The only external service the extension communicates with is the Lemon Squeezy license verification API, and only when you manually enter a license key.

Google Meet

MeetMute operates on Google Meet pages (meet.google.com) only. It does not read, record, or transmit any content from your meetings. It only controls the audio output setting of your browser tab.

Children's privacy

MeetMute is intended for professional use. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
